DeLand Police are looking for the driver who failed to stop after hitting and injuring a woman Friday morning.

The incident happened before 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of South Florida and West Hubbard avenues.

According to police, witnesses found the woman in the roadway. Witnesses told investigators that shortly after finding the woman, they saw a vehicle fleeing the scene, traveling eastbound on Hubbard Ave.

The woman was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

Police have released an image of the vehicle they believed was involved in the hit-and-run.
