A Seminole County mother said she has been on an emotional roller coaster since the shootings in Las Vegas that has left nearly 60 dead and more than 500 wounded as her daughter attended the concert during the attack.

Nichole Crane was born in Orlando. Her mother, Monica, lives in Sanford. Monica Crane calls her daughter the true love of her life.

"There is nothing, nothing that even comes close to the connection that her and I have together," she recalls.

Nichole Crane is an analytical chemist and she moved to Utah about a year and a half ago. She drove to Vegas for the country music festival that became the target of a gunman on a rampage.

However, her mother worries what type of impact it will have on her daughter.

"I'm still having a lot of anxiety and trauma over it, but now I know that she is safe, whatever that means nowadays. But I am I'm worried about what is going to do to her psychologically," Monica Crane said with worry.

Nichole Crane told Spectrum News over the phone she and her boyfriend did not want to be sitting ducks so they just ran. Her mother heard the fear in her daughter's voice when she called saying she survived.

"I've never experienced grief like I have since my mother passed away, but I don't think I have ever experienced the terror that I did when my daughter called me on the phone last night until I knew that they had the situation contained," said Monica Crane.

And while she is grateful her daughter is okay, she is heartbroken for those who are not.

"I don't know what I would have done if she didn't make it out I really don't know what I would've done," she said.

Nichole Crane is flying into Orlando on Friday for a Seminole High School reunion. The mother and daughter are both very much looking forward to seeing each other in person then.
