Registration ends for people who want to apply for food assistance through the Department of Children and Families in Orange and Seminole counties on Wednesday.

But some 5,000 people are still in line at Camping World Stadium. Officials with DCF says anyone still in line will be seen today. Workers will stay into the night to see everyone. But the line itself is closed and no one can get in anymore.

DCF says it has seen and approved some 80,000 people at Camping World Stadium over the five days.

At the Orlando Live Venue in Seminole county, DCF workers saw and approved 32,000 people over the five days.

People started showing up around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, yet the gates did not open until 7 a.m.

This assistance is for families or individuals who were impacted by Hurricane Irma.

Requirements are also based on household size and income.

If a person currently receive state assistance, he or she will not be eligible to receive the assistance on Wednesday.

Florida Department of Children and Families wants to make sure registration flows smoothly after safety concerns over the growing line on Saturday caused the agency to stop allowing people to enter.

"We've been hearing the last few days the line has been very long, so we came out here early to get in line hoping to get some quick assistance," said Bassem Chabam, who is applying for assistance.

The next in-person event will be held in Ocala Oct. 31 through Nov. 2, at Florida Horse Park.

If you did not get food help in Orlando or Casselberry, you can apply in Ocala.
