A juvenile green sea turtle recovering from severe injuries from a boat strike received some TLC at a human hospital Saturday.

The female sea turtle, named Homeslice, was struck by a boat propeller and found floating in the Mosquito Lagoon area of Canaveral National Seashore last August with severe wounds to her carapace and head, according to Health First Medical Group in Melbourne.
After months of rehabilitation at Brevard Zoo, she was in need of a magnetic resonance imaging scan to ensure her spinal cord was healthy enough for her to be released back into the wild.
Animal MRI machines are not big enough for sea turtles, so Health First worked with zoo officials to allow Homeslice to get the scans at the hospital.
