A man is behind bars after shooting his wife, while their three young children looked on, says the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Deputy moved mother, children out of harm's way
  • Children ages are from 23 months to 7 years old
  • Suspect arrested for attempted murder

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Alameda Drive on Sunday in Deltona.

When they arrived, they heard gunshots and a 26-year-old woman yelling “I’m shot.”

Body camera video shows a deputy dragging the injured woman out of harm’s way.

As more gunshots could be heard, the deputy moved around the house.

The children, ranging in age from 23 months old to 7 years old, ran to the deputy, who carried them away.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Emmanuel Rosado, then surrendered and came out of the house.

He was arrested on three counts of first-degree attempted murder.

The victim was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
