Officials said the victim in this case was trying to separate from her husband, but when their argument escalated, he shot her. Her three young children were inside the home when those shots were fired.

At least 10 shots rang out when a Volusia County deputy rolled up to reports of a domestic dispute. He jumped out of his car and ran toward the gunfire.

A woman was shot in the back of the leg.

Deputies surrounded the home searching for the shooter. In the video, the deputy is seen running toward the victim on the ground.

“I gotcha, I gotcha,” he said.

More shots were fired as the deputy dragged the injured woman to the house next door.

“My kids are in there,” she said.

Three young children between the ages of 23-months and 7-years-old were still inside the home with the shooter.

“Where’s the bad guy?” the deputy asked over his radio.

Breathing heavily, the deputy has his weapon drawn.

“Where is he? Where are my kids?” the woman asked frantically.

More deep breaths from the deputy as he moved around the house to find the mother’s children.

A couple minutes later the three young children are seen running toward the deputy.

“Come here, come here, come here sweetheart,” he said as the children were crying. “Come here buddy, come here, come here.”

He scooped them up and brought them to safety.

The suspect then came out the back of the house where deputies took him into custody.

Ending a scary and violent encounter.

The wounded mother was airlifted to the hospital for treatment and her husband was taken into custody for questioning.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Emmanuel Rosado of Deltona was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder.
