A SunRail train sustained some damage in Seminole County when a vehicle struck the train as it passed a railroad crossing.

The crash happened at Old Lake Mary Road and West 25th Street in Sanford Thursday night.

Steve Olson with Florida Dept. of Transportation said the vehicle hit just beliow the engineer's window. The train's engineer said the gate was working as intended, the vehicle somehow just got passed them.

The driver of the vehicle was hurt.

Thirty-eight passengers were on board, but no one was hurt. Passengers were able to continue to the Sanford station, where they were able to take another train to their final destination.
