A man who deputies said was acting suicidal was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Seminole County.
Officers with the Altamonte Springs Police Department responded around 12:35 a.m. to the Remington Place Apartments in reference to a suicidal man.
Upon officers arriving to the scene, the man, who has been identified as Anthony Lynn Skyles, 34, confronted the officer with the knife.
The officer, who is not being identified by name at this time, shot Skyles.
Skyles was taken to Florida Hospital Altamonte, where he later died.
Skyles has had a run-in with the law before. He was arrested on an Orange County warrant for marijuana in 2005.
Per Altamonte Springs Police Department policy, the officer who was involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave pending the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's investigation of the shooting.
