New video released from the company that provides red-light cameras shows the dangers for pedestrians when drivers violate those signals while turning right.
American Traffic Solutions, which has a contract in Orlando, released video from multiple Florida communities where pedestrians paid the price for drivers’ negligence.
At about 90 seconds into the video, a driver in Palm Coast is seen nearly colliding with oncoming traffic while not stopping at a red light to turn right.
Other locations seen in the video include Miami, Doral, Gulfport and Ft. Lauderdale.
ATS quoted a statistic from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration showing more than 20 percent of all pedestrian fatalities in 2012 happened at or within 50 feet of an intersection.
