If you're looking for something to do this long weekend, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse is back open.

The reopening marks a new normal for the zoo, with temperatures being checked at the door.

Masks are to be worn at all times and social distancing respected.

There is a 500 person limit, and 50 people are allowed in every half hour. The zoo will also have an earlier closing time.

Overall, visitors say they're appreciative to have something to do.

"It means a lot to us to come here, we’ve got a baby on the way,” said Samantha Findlay, a visitor of the zoo.

The zoo's director says they are going to be testing how everything turns out for a few weeks before reevaluating what the next steps are.
