MALIBU, Calif. — Insurance companies Allstate and State Farm announced recently they will no longer offer new coverage plans in California.
The insurance companies cite the increasing frequency of natural disasters, rising costs of construction and inflation as the cause.
The departure may mean more Californias only option for insurance in the state FAIR Plan — an insurer of last resort.
