ORLANDO, Fla. – IAAPA Expo, the largest attractions trade show in the world, will return to Orlando this November, IAAPA announced Monday.

What You Need To Know

  • The annual IAAPA Expo to return in November

  • The conference, held in Orlando, was canceled last year due to the pandemic

  • The event will be held in-person at the Orange County Convention Center

The conference will be held November 15-18 at the Orange County Convention Center.

“This year has been unlike any other. Members have been looking to us to help them push the industry forward so guests around the world can safely return to the fun we are known for,” IAAPA president and CEO Hal McEvoy said in a statement. “The best way we can do this is by bringing the industry together for our global expos.”

The in-person conference, which typically attracts tens of thousands of industry attendees, was canceled last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In its place, IAAPA held a virtual conference, with panels and presentations accessible online. The cancellation of the event was a huge economic blow to the convention center.

For the Orlando event, more than 75 education sessions are planned. There will also be exclusive networking events and a fundraiser for Give Kids The World Village.

IAAPA said it will ensure that it has the right safety measures in place for the event. Right now, its health and safety guidelines include mandatory masks for people ages 2 and older, touchless hand sanitizer stations through the facilities and physical distancing protocols such as floor markings and physical barriers.

At the IAAPA Expo, theme park vendors and companies can show off the latest rides, food and technology. In the past, major theme park operators like Disney and SeaWorld have made big announcements about upcoming attractions during the conference.

The conference is not open to the public.
