ORLANDO, Fla. –  Disney and Universal Orlando were among the winners of this year's Thea Awards.

  • Disney, Universal win Thea Awards
  • Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge named outstanding new park land
  • Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motobike outstanding attraction

The winners were announced Tuesday at the IAAPA Expo at the Orange County Convention Center.

Disney was the recipient of two "outstanding achievement" awards—Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in the New Park Land category and the park's Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in the Attraction category.

Universal was honored with an "award for outstanding achievement" in the Attraction category for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. The multi-launch coaster opened in June at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

Other winners include The Google Assistant Ride in the Brand Experience category and Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi in the Theme Park category. For a full list of winners, click here.

The Themed Entertainment Association presents the awards every year, honoring multiple theme park projects in a variety of categories. The awards will be officially presented in April at TEA's awards gala in Anaheim, California.
