WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Legoland Florida has opened a new indoor attraction designed to let young visitors explore future careers.

  • New indoor attraction opens at Legoland Florida
  • The Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse features educational play areas
  • Young visitors can explore future careers

The Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse is an indoor play area that features school-themed equipment, an entertainment stage, Duplo brick play areas and a touchscreen where visitors can practice numbers and letters.

Outside the schoolhouse, there is a photo-op with Duplo cutout figures that represent various careers, including doctors and teachers.

The attraction was made possible through a partnership between Legoland Florida and Florida Prepaid.

"When children are building with Duplo and Lego bricks, college can seem very far away," Florida Prepaid Board Chairman John Rood said in a statement. "But the earlier families start building a college savings plan, the less stress and debt they have to face later."

In celebration of the new attraction, Florida Prepaid is giving away 10 college scholarships. The deadline to enter for a chance to win one of the two-year Florida College Plan scholarship is November 24 at 5 p.m.

To enter, visit myfloridaprepaid.com/scholarship.
