ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rafiki's Planet Watch will reopen this summer, Disney World announced Tuesday.

  • Wildlife Express train, Affection Section to also return
  • Attraction will feature "enhancements" and elements to celebrate "The Lion King"

After undergoing a refurbishment, the Animal Kingdom attraction will incluce a "few new enhancements," according to a post on the Disney Parks Blog.

The attraction will also feature some elements that help celebrate The Lion King's 25th anniversary.

In addition to Rafiki's Planet Watch, the Wildlife Express train and the Affection Section petting zoo will also reopen.

The attraction temporarily closed on October 20, 2018. Although the area was closed to the public, it was still accessible to the the park's animal care team.
