ORLANDO, Fla. -- The newest Masai giraffe calf at Disney's Animal Kingdom now has a name. Meet Amira.

  • Disney fans choose name for giraffe calf
  • Amira can be seen on Kilimanjaro Safaris
  • Her name means princess in Swahili

Disney fans were asked to help choose the name for the two-month-old by voting in a poll. Amira is the Swahili word for princess.

"We are delighted with her name and thank you sincerely for playing a role in this important moment in her life," said Scott Terrell, Director of Animal & Service Operations, in a Disney Parks Blog post.

Amira, who was born on October 1, can now be seen on the park's Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction.

Masai giraffe are currently classified as a "vunerable" species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
