ORLANDO, Fla. -- Universal Orlando's newest hotel is set to officially open on Aug. 16.

  • Universal's Aventura Hotel opens Aug. 16
  • Features 600 rooms with modern design
  • Food court, pool, rooftop bar and gril

Aventura Hotel is the sixth hotel to open on the property, bumping Universal's room count to 6,200.

During a special event Tuesday, Universal shared a sneak peek inside its newest addition.

The 600-room hotel features a sleek, contemporary design. Each room includes floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views of Orlando and Universal's theme parks.

Aventura is listed as a "prime value" hotel, with rates starting at $116 per night for standard rooms and $216 per night for the kids' suites.

The hotel is also one of Universal's most tech-savvy.

Each room features a tablet that controls everything from the TV to the room temperature. Guests can even use the tablets to order room service.

Aventura also has a modernized food court called Urban Pantry, which serves up cuisine inspired by famous food halls found in cities like San Francisco and London. There's a sushi, noodle station that serves up ramen or stir-fry style dishes. There's also a pizza station – with a smoked salmon pizza – a burger station and a roast station, which offers rotisserie-style lamb, chicken and prime rib.

There's also a Starbucks in the hotel lobby for those that have to get their daily coffee fix.

On the top level of the hotel, guests will find Bar 17 Bistro, Universal's first-ever rooftop bar and grill.  Bar 17 offers cocktails, small plates and a few more views of the Orlando skyline.

For relaxation, Aventura features a pool with a poolside bar, fire pit and a slash zone for the kids.
