ORLANDO, Fla. -- If you've ever visited a Disney theme park, you've probably had to stand in a line or two.

  • Play Disney Parks app to debut June 30
  • Users can play games while waiting in line 
  • Select attractions included at launch 

The new Play Disney Parks app aims to make waiting more bearable.

It will be available on iOS and Android devices June 30 - - just in time for the opening of Toy Story Land.

The app supports both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Guests can access games, trivia other activities while waiting in line at certain attractions.

The rides include Toy Story Mania, Peter Pan's Flight and Space Mouth at both resorts. An additional game themed for Slinky Dog Dash will be available at Disney World.

Guests will also earn achievements by playing games, completing challenges and riding rides.

"Play Disney Parks represents the next step in how we use innovative digital technology to enhance the guest experience in our parks," said Vivek Sharma, senior VP of Digital Guest Experience, in a statement. "The app is designed to help guests immerse themselves in the Disney stories they know and love in a whole new way."

Users on iOS devices can access curated playlists through Apple Music. Each playlists contains music inspired by the parks, attractions and characters.

The initial launch is just the beginning. The team behind the app plans to add other in-park experiences, including some for the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

The Star War-themed expansion is set to open at Disneyland in summer 2019 and at Disney World in late fall 2019.
