TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida authorities rescued nearly a dozen people after a boat capsized in a coastal waterway.

Florida Today reported that the Titusville Fire Department and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission pulled people out of Indian River as rough weather was moving through the area. Indian River is located on Florida's east coast.

On its Twitter account Titusville Fire Department said that it rescued 9 adults and two juveniles. One other person was evaluated, but refused to be transported.

The newspaper said that at least six people were in the water while at least three more were on a nearby island about 200 yards away.
