Jerod Ward, Basketball Analyst

Jerod Ward joined Spectrum Sports in 2013 as a Basketball Analyst, covering Florida's High School Sports.

Ward was the No. 1 player in the nation in 1994.  He received the James Naismith Player of the Year Award, honoring the nation’s best high school basketball player.  Future winners would include LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard. Ward was a USA Today, McDonald’s, Parade, Gatorade, and Slam Magazine All-American.

Ward signed with the University of Michigan. He was a University of Michigan basketball letter winner and ranked 5th in career 3-point field goals. He was Big Ten All-Star Europe Team Most Valuable Player, Big Ten Conference Most Improved Player, 1st Team All-Big Ten Tournament Team and 1st Team Puerto Rico All-tournament Team.  He graduated from the University of Michigan.

Ward had a 14-year career and signed with 3 NBA teams, the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs in 1999, Golden State Warriors in 2000, Toronto Raptors in 2002, and was also associated with several other NBA teams (Milwaukee Bucks, New Jersey Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angles Clippers).

Ward played professionally throughout the best leagues in Europe, Asia, and Mideast, where he continued to having success as a basketball player by winning scoring titles, dunk contests, and championships.

In addition to his work with Spectrum Sports, Ward is the President of JW ProBall Development, which trains and mentors athletes of all ages. He is also a member of several associations, which includes Broadcasting Club of Florida.  Ward is active in philanthropy endeavors like the V-Foundation and Salvation Army. Ward lives happily with his wife, Patricia and their dog "TJ".
