There will be football in Tampa this weekend.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get their storm-delayed season started Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. And the University of South Florida will resume its season Friday at RayJay against Illinois.

On Saturday, Florida A&M will play host to Tennessee State at Raymond James at 6 p.m.

The teams - and the Bay area and state - were caught in Hurricane Irma's wrath during the weekend.

There were some questions about games being played this weekend due to storm damage and widespread power outages.

The Bucs' game at Miami, scheduled for last Sunday, was postponed due Irma's approach on South Florida. That game will be played in November.

"Hosting the game is important to us," said Bucs' CEO Brian Ford. "Tampa Bay has been through a lot over the past few days."

Meanwhile, No. 22 South Florida also is resuming practice Tuesday and will play host to Illinois on Friday at 7 p.m.

"We are confident that Friday's game can proceed safely as scheduled without impacting the recovery efforts," said USF athletic director Mark Harlan.
