UCF Football moves American Conference opener against Memphis up to Friday night

With Hurricane Irma, now a category five storm, en route the University of Central Florida is taking precaution and moving its American Conference matchup against Memphis up to Friday night at 6:30 p.m.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 p.m. inside Spectrum Stadium.

“The best option for ensuring this game is played is to move it to Friday night,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White. “With travel considerations, we had to make that decision today. I thank the University of Memphis and the American Athletic Conference for working with us to keep safety our top priority while finding a way to play this game.”

Due to the schedule change there will be no tailgating opportunities on any of the campus lots as first responders throughout the area will be preparing for Hurricane Irma.

Parking lots and Spectrum Stadium will open for all fans at 5 p.m.
