The Buccaneers final full practice on Wednesday before Friday's preseason opener in Cincinnati had a much better feel to it then Tuesday's practice that was called to a halt by Dirk Koetter because of the way the team was practicing.

“We got a lot of situations today, Koetter said after practice, we got some goal-line, some short-yardage, some red-zone, some two minute. We’ve had three days in a row with the officials, so great work today a lot of stuff that’s going to come up Friday.”

Koetter plans to play Jameis Winston and the first team for a quarter but had hinted during training camp that after Winston leaves he would still like to sprinkle some starters in with the second teamers to work with backup quarterbacks Ryan Griffin and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

“You want to see some of these guys, you know what your veterans can do – you want to see what some of the young guys, some of the new guys, can do. It’s exciting. You know, it’s part of the process of getting ready for the season and preseason is a valuable part of the evaluation.”

There was one scary moment towards the end of todays practice when Brent Grimes collided with another player and had to be carted from the field after he was down for several minutes while being attended to by the Buccaneers training staff. Grimes suffered a laceration to his shin, and coach Koetter called the cut "nasty" but said Grimes should be fine.

The Bucs will go thru a walk-thru in shorts tomorrow morning before boarding the team plan for Cincinnati.
