If you look at Kayamo Galloway and get him confused with his brother, you’re not alone.

“I hear it almost everyday,” said Galloway. “Actually because walking around people will ask us are you guys twins, you look so alike.”

Mamush Galloway is actually 11 months older than Kayamo, who also goes by K. But the two are both sophomores at Oviedo after spending last year at Trinity Prep.

Expectations are high for K, he placed seventh at the 1A state cross country meet a season ago, helping the Saints win a team title, so K is ready to carry the load.

“It’s a little bit of pressure but I’m willing to work for it,” said Galloway. “I have a great team, I can lead, and I’m ready to lead these boys to a state championship.

State title talk certainly isn’t out the question for Oviedo. They’re the number two team in the state regardless of classification according to flrunners.com. First year head coach Dave Tibbetts has a very deep roster at his disposal.

“We’ve got a lot of guys that want that team title,” said Tibbetts. “And we’ve got a lot of guys that want that individual title, so I’ve got several highly motivated runners right now, and each and every one of them could take that state title.”

“I really appreciate this team,” Galloway added.

And as time goes by Oviedo will definitely appreciate K.
