Free agent guard Arron Afflalo is rejoining the Orlando Magic.

The Magic announced the signing Thursday but didn't disclose terms. The 11-year NBA veteran who shot 41 percent from beyond the arc for the Sacramento Kings last season gives Orlando leadership and 3-point shooting.

Afflalo had his best two seasons in the league with the Magic. He averaged 17.4 points, 3.7 rebound and 3.3 assists with Orlando in 2012-14.

He averaged 8.4 points and 2.0 rebounds with the Kings last season.

“Arron (Afflalo) adds experience and depth to our backcourt,” said President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman. “He is an excellent three-point shooter and a veteran that will help our young roster both on the court and in the locker room. We are excited to have Arron back in a Magic uniform.”

The Magic added more front court depth in signing St. Petersburg native Marreese Speights to a one-year deal. Speights played in all 82 regular season games last season with the L.A. Clippers, averaging 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds.

“Marreese (Speights) has developed into a effective shooting big man during his pro career,” said Weltman. “He is a veteran player that brings playoff and championship experience to our team. We are very happy to have Marreese and his family in Orlando.”

"It's an unreal feeling,'' Speights said.  "If I try to explain it it would be an understatement. I just feel blessed to be here. I never thought I'd be playing for my home team.''

With Speights, the Magic get a proven post player who has been one of the best bench players in the NBA the last few years. He spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers after winning a championship as a key reserve during his stint with the Golden State Warriors.

Speights, who is entering his 10th season, will likely serve as the backup to Nikola Vucevic but the Magic also have shot-blocker Bismack Biymobo, which could make for a logjam in the post in an era where NBA teams favor small ball.

Speights, however, gives the Magic a chance to space the floor even more because of his 3-point shooting ability.  He made 103 3-pointers for the Clippers last season, converting 37 percent from beyond the arch while averaging 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds.

"Only thing I can really control is coming in and work every day,'' Speights said. "If I don't play it's okay. I'm not really chasing nothing coming here, I've already won a championship.''

The Magic also announced the signing of free agent center Khem Birch to a non-guaranteed contract. Birch played in Greece last season averaging 7.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in 37 games for Olympiacos.
