The Orlando Pride finally broke it's scorless streak against the Chicago Red Stars, but it wouldn't be enough as they lost 2-1 in Chicago on Saturday.

The Pride had yet to score a goal in three prior games against Chicago.

The Red stars started the scoring in the 28th minute when Sofie Huerta fed Christen Press who walked around Pride goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe for the goal and 1-0 lead.

Orlando nearly tied the game in the 36th minute when Marta sent a ball to a wide-open Alex Morgan, but the header attempt from point-blank range was fought off by Chicago goalie Alyssa Naeher.

The Red Stars extender their lead in the 51st minute when Press ran in one-on-one against Bledsoe and fired the ball in the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0.

Four minutes of stoppage time was added to the end of the game and it was in the 92nd minute when the Pride finally cracked the scoresheet as Rachel Hill looked like she was winding up to shoot before tapping a pass to Alanna Kennedy who sent a short-range rocket into the net to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Orlando would fail to get another quality chance before time ran out.

The Pride will have a shot at redemption in their next game which is against Chicago on August 5 in Orlando.
