Mr. Baseball sure has a nice ring to it. So does Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year, two titles than Orange City University High School graduate Logan Allen can claim as his own.

“I’m having a good run, no doubt,” laughed Logan.

The one thing he cant decide just yet, is whether or not to add minor league ball player to the list or not. Logan was recently drafted in the 16th round by the Baltimore Orioles, and while a bit later than he’d have liked, Allen is waiting on an offer from the team before he makes a decision.

“After Day 2 I was kind of at a point where I was like alright, it’s time to go to school, it’s fine. It didn’t work out this year but it’ll work out in the next couple of years,” said Logan. “And then I got the call on Day 3 and I have to rethink if I want to go and play pro now or go to school. I just have got to see kind of how it all works out.”

Logan brings plenty to the table, whatever he chooses. In his senior season the pitcher finished with a 13-0 record while striking out 150 batters, and at the plate he had 28 runs scored and 22 RBIs. In the state semi-final match-up Logan had the best game of his Titans career, throwing a no-hitter with 10 Ks to lead the squad to a state runner-up finish.

But even with that kind of stat line, Logan was still surprised to be named the best of the best as Florida Dairy Farmer’s Mr. Baseball.

“It was special and a little surprising. I wasn’t expecting it. I heard that I got it and I was really excited and then I heard the company that I was in that won before me and its really good company to be in. I’m proud of myself and just really excited to be named Mr. Baseball.”
