Deltona Trinity Christian's rally hats were in abundance Wednesday night.

The Eagles came back not once, but twice to defeat Seacrest Country Day 9-7 in the Class 2A state semifinals. Trinity Christian will play another Trinity Christian, from Lake Worth, for the 2A title Thursday at 7:30 p.m. LIVE on Spectrum Sports HD 1147/Channel 47.

Back in the state semifinals for the second-straight year, both teams had to endure a two-and-a-half hour weather delay before the start of the game.

But once it started, Seacrest didn't waste time loading the bases.Trinity Christian's Trent Brickhouse was on his way out of a jam with back-to-back strikeouts, but then he hit a batter to score the first run. William Cialone followed that up with a two-run single to right field to give the Stingrays a 3-0 lead.

Seacrest's Josue Rivera had a no-hitter through four innings, with his Stingrays up 4-0, until Trinity Christian broke it up in the fifth.

Ed Morales's RBI single to left field put the Eagles on the board. And the runs kept coming.

William Rosado's double to left field scored two more and a fielding error by the Stingrays brought another across the plate. A five-run swing and Trinity Christian took the lead, 5-4.

In the bottom of the sixth, with two outs, the Eagles repaid the fielding error to bring the tying run across the plate.

Bonus baseball? Didn't need it.

The Eagles scored four runs in the seventh, including Gabriel Mercedes' two-run triple, to set up their trip to the title game..
