The top high school baseball teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Spectrum Sports staff:
1. West Orange (22-3) – Nationally ranked Warriors haven’t played since April 20 and will quickly have to regain their rhythm for the 9A, District 3 tournament.
2. Orange City University (20-5) – FIU signee Logan Allen, who has a 26-2 career record, will get the ball for the Titans in Wednesday’s 9A, District 2 semifinal on Spectrum Sports.
3. Merritt Island (20-5) – Mustangs, who face Rockledge in a win-or-go-home 6A, District 13 semifinal, have scored 10 or more runs in five straight games.
4. Eau Gallie (22-3) – After starting the season 2-2, Commodores have won 20 of their last 21 games and will host the 6A, District 13 tournament.
5. First Academy (20-4) – Royals are averaging 7.9 runs per game in their wins, but only 2.3 runs per game in their losses.
6. Lake Brantley (19-6) – After back-to-back losses, Patriots won their final three regular season games heading into Wednesday’s 9A, District 3 semifinal against Apopka.
7. Rockledge (18-7) – Raiders split their two regular season games against Merritt Island and meet the Mustangs again Wednesday in a 6A, District 13 semifinal.
8. Melbourne Central Catholic (20-4-1) – Pitching and defense figure to be the formula in the playoffs for the Hustlers, who allowed less than two runs per game in the regular season.
9. Winter Park (16-9) – Wildcats split their two regular season games with Oviedo and will host the Lions in the 9A, District 6 semifinals on Wednesday.
10. Timber Creek (18-7) – Loss in the regular season finale against Lake Brantley snapped the Wolves’ run of eight straight wins.
