Top-ranked West Orange won their 12th game in-a-row by defeating their rival #6 Olympia 5-1 Wednesday night in front of a packed house at Heller Bros. Ballpark in Winter Garden on the campus of West Orange High School.

The game was shown live on Spectrum Sports.

With the victory, West Orange (18-3) locked up the top seed in Class 9A District 3.

Warriors ace Cole Beavin proved why he is a Division I signee by dominating the Titans (13-6) with a complete game, seven-strikeout outing. Beavin is headed to East Carolina after his high school career is over.

Offense was at a premium, until the bottom of the sixth inning with the score tied at one, when West Orange finally found their bats. A two-run double by Warriors sophomore Noah Hughes (BYU commit) and an RBI triple by senior Bobby Head (Austin Peay signee) produced four Warriors runs to break the game wide open.

West Orange and Olympia will meet again to finish their district series on Friday night with Doug Nikhazy (West Orange) and Jeslyn Whitehead (Olympia) as the probable starters.
