Ft. Myers won the school's very first state hoops title last year.

They returned this year hungry for a second.

The Green Wave get a shot at back-to-back titles after a 56-28 win over Edgewater in the Class 7A state semifinals.

Ft. Myers will play Ft. Walton Beach for the 7A title on Saturday. Spectrum Sports will carry the action LIVE at 8 p.m.

The Green Wave took advantage of some Edgewater miscues. The Lady Eagles turned the ball over 11 times in the first half. Ft. Myers turned them into four points. Overall, the Lady Eagles turned the ball over 20 times for 18 Green Wave points.

After a tight first quarter, the Green Wave created some distance by holding Edgewater to only two points. Ft. Myers won the battle of the boards in the first half, 36-22, and overall 59-46.

Ft. Myers opened the second half with a 8-0 run, while the defense held the Lady Eagles to just five third quarter points.

Edgewater was led by Emari Bell with 12 points, the only Lady Eagle to score in double digits.
