In a back and fourth contest that saw six lead changes it was Grandview Prep (18-8) who outlasted Calvary Christian (18-9) in the 2A State Championship Wednesday night at the Lakeland Center, 37-34.

The Pride opened up on an 8-1 run before Lion’s ended the first quarter with the lead, 14-11.

Calvary Christian held the lead up until the final minutes of play, before Pride senior Sarah Radebaugh hit a three.

From there on, Grandview Prep did not let go of the lead hitting critical free throws down the final stretch to earn its program’s second state crown.

Mariah Perez led the Lion’s with 15 points, 7 rebounds in the team’s first state finals appearance—collectively the team shot 18% from the field.

Radebaugh led the way for the Pride, who have had six straight appearances in the states final four, scoring 9 points and racking up 7 boards.
