That is the record of NHL teams coming off the bye in the month of February.

"We’re the one team that’s gonna win," said Lightning head coach Jon Cooper with a laugh.  "That’s how we’re looking at it."

The trend suggests they won't, but after five days off can the Lightning refind the same rhythm they had before the break?

"I think so," said Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman.  "We’re pros. We had to make sure we did something throughout this break. Not just lay on the couch or lay on the beach."

"It felt pretty good out there," said Lightning goalie Ben Bishop about his first practice back.  "Obviously, a little cardiovascular thing to get back, but as far as hands and feet and feel of the pucks, it felt normal."

"We look back and sit here and say, well how far down the standings did we fall being away these five days and it actually wasn’t all that bad," said Cooper.  "Now it’s time to starting climbing the ladder again and I think the guys know that."

Tampa Bay (57 points) trails Toronto by six points for second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.  They are seven points behind Boston for the third playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.

Dallas mimics them in the West with 54 points, they sit third to last in the conference.

The Lightning is currently riding a four-game point streak, which ties their longest all season. They realize the opportunity they have ahead of them to extend that. The Stars have lost seven of their last eight.

"I know where they’re at because I know they’ve played better than their win-loss record and that’s why I’ve said we’ve been defending better," said Cooper.  "We’ve been playing better in front of our goaltenders and we need to do that now."

They’ve been playing better in front of Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy, but that tandem is playing maybe their best all year. They’ve allowed just five goals in their last four games.

"I always say you can’t have a good team, unless you have a good goalie," said Tyler Johnson who practiced Friday after missing the last two games before the bye with a lower body injury.  "We’re very fortunate we have two of the best. When they’re on, when they’re playing well it makes everything so much easier."

"We’re very fortunate to have those two guys back there keeping us in games when we need ‘em to and making those big saves," said Hedman.  "They’ve been great and we’re gonna need that going down the stretch as well."

Johnson said his injury felt good after practice Friday.  Jon Cooper would not commit to Johnson's playing status against Dallas on Saturday.

He did say that Johnson getting through an entire practice is "encouraging".
