With expectations higher than ever, the USF Women's basketball team was predicted to finish second in the conference this season, by the American Athletic Conference media on Monday.
The Bulls, under head coach Jose Fernandez who enters his 18th season, were slated second behind UConn.
"We finished runner-up in the conference tournament last season and we return four starters," Fernandez said. "We've put together a tough non-conference schedule to prepare us for league play. I look forward to seeing our players grow and battle on the court this season."
Junior Kitija Laksa was also named a preseason All-AAC 1st-Team selection.
The USF Men's Basketball team were predicted to finish 12th under first-year head coach Brian Gregory.
