The top girls basketball teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Spectrum Sports staff:

1. Lake Highland (19-6) – The quest for a third consecutive state championship starts with a district semifinal against Master’s Academy on Wednesday night.

2. Leesburg (20-5) – Yellow Jackets reached the 20-win mark for the fourth time in five seasons.

3. Bishop Moore (21-3) – Red-hot Hornets will carry a 15-game winning streak into this week’s 6A, District 13 tournament.  

4. Ocoee (19-5) – A blind draw determined the Knights will be the third seed behind East River and Ocala West Port in this week’s 8A, District 5 tournament.

5. Wekiva (17-8) – Mustangs closed the regular season on a roll with wins in six of their last seven games, including victories against Jones and West Orange.

6. West Orange (19-6) – Three sophomores – Morgan Beacham, Kyani Moore and Christina Kline – are all averaging double figures scoring for the Warriors.

7. Jones (18-6) – Tigers went 1-2 in the final week of the regular season with losses to Wekiva and West Orange.   

8. Spruce Creek (17-8) – Five of Creek’s eight losses have come by five points or less.  

9. Winter Springs (21-3) – Final week of the regular season included a 50-45 loss to Spruce Creek and a 50-44 victory against 2A state ranked Geneva. 

10. Oviedo (19-5) – Lions, who lost to Winter Springs twice during the regular season, hope to topple the Bears in the 9A, District 2 tournament.
