Seminole was ready to prove the nay-sayers wrong week 4 against Orange City University.

“Everyone doubted us –predicted to lose by multiple people,” senior DJ Hampton said.

“We lost last season they were the defending champions behind Lake Brantley it was just a crazy game.”

Seminole was on the losing end a year ago but running back DJ Hampton had other plans for round two.

“It was our last time playing them, we might see them again if we make it to the playoffs and they do but for us to beat them our senior year it felt really good,” Hampton said.

The 5’9 running back rushed for 140 yards and a career game high three touchdowns –his goal to out work the opposing back-- Lorenzo Linguard.

“For me to get three touchdowns and he only had two and 100 more yards than he did felt really good,” Hampton said.

Hampton’s most important score came with under two minutes to play—marching into the end zone to put the Noles’ up 35-21 and earning a crucial 8A-District 2 victory.

“Well the offensive line did a great job blocking DJ carried the ball, you know when he has the ball in his hand he’s a pretty good football player,” head coach Don Stark said.

The offense clicking right now for the unbeaten Noles who are looking to carry this momentum on to the rest of its tough district schedule.
