The top girls volleyball teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Bright House Sports Network staff:

1. Bishop Moore (6-0) – Hornets, still ranked No. 1 nationally by PrepVolleyball, got past Oviedo in four sets Wednesday on BHSN.  

2. Oviedo (7-1) – Lions, behind a strong showing against Bishop Moore, are up to 30th in the latest PrepVolleyball national rankings.

3. First Academy (8-1) – Royals won five of six matches last week and took third place at the prestigious Berkeley Premier tournament in Tampa.  

4. Spruce Creek (9-1) – Hawks advanced to the championship match of the Winter Park Invitational before falling to Miami Westminster Christian.  

5. Hagerty (6-2) – Huskies continue their district schedule this week with matches against Melbourne (Wednesday) and Harmony (Thursday).     

6. West Orange (9-2) – Junior outside hitter Makala Heidelberg is among the area leaders with 125 kills for the Warriors.

7. Lake Highland (10-4) – Highlanders lost three starters to injury at the Berkeley Premier tournament and finished 2-3.     

8. Dr. Phillips (6-1) – Maredis Colon pounded 17 kills to help lead the Panthers past rival Olympia in their most notable victory so far this season.

9. Merritt Island (10-4) – Mustangs went 0-3 in pool play at the Berkeley Premier but bounced back with wins against Manatee and Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons in the copper bracket.   

10. Olympia (9-4) – Titans reached the gold bracket of the Winter Park Invitational before losing to Spruce Creek and West Orange.
