The Oviedo Lions jumped out to an early lead in the first set against the host West Orange Warriors and never looked back, cruising to a 3-0 sweep on the BHSN Game of the Week.
Sophomore Savannah Vach led Oviedo with 14 kills and freshman Rebekah Rath was named Player of the Game as she added 12 kills and 2 blocks on the night.
West Orange nearly forced a fourth set as they got as close as 22-24, before Oviedo sophomore Madison Salvatoriello knocked down her fifth kill of the night, sending the Lions to the 9A State Semifinals against Riverview on Saturday.
The Warriors advanced to the Region Finals for the second consecutive year and end the season with a 23-3 record. Oviedo advances to the semifinals for the fifth time in school history with a record of 25-3.
