The top teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Bright House Sports Network staff:

1. Hagerty (28-4) – Huskies endured a gut wrenching 1-0 extra innings loss to eventual state champ Newsome in the 8A state semifinals.

2. West Orange (28-2) – Warriors season ended with a 2-1 defeat against Hagerty in the 8A, Region 1 title game.     

3. East River (23-5) – Falcons produced their best season in program history with a trip to the 6A region finals before falling to state champion Ocala Forest.  

4. Boone (24-4) – Braves won 18 consecutive games during the regular season and have a number of talented players projected to return.

5. Cocoa Beach (23-7) – Senior pitcher Megan Kugelmann carried Minutemen to the 4A regional finals for the second consecutive season.

6. Astronaut (22-5) – After finishing as the district runner-up to Cocoa Beach, War Eagles came up short against Montverde Academy in extra innings of their first regional game.  

7. Melbourne (23-5) – Bulldogs claimed their second straight district crown but got shutout by Punta Gorda Charlotte in the 7A region quarterfinals.

8. Viera (25-5) – Hawks earned a national ranking with their 13-0 start and advanced to the 7A region finals for the third time in program history.

9. Apopka (19-6) – Blue Darters season came to an abrupt end with a shocking loss to Olympia in the 8A, District 3 semifinals.

10. Orange City University (20-9) – All five seniors on the Titans roster have signed to play college softball next season.
