A 19-yard touchdown pass from Tyrek Tisdale to Nyquan Murray with 31 seconds to play gave the 14th ranked Oak Ridge Pioneers a season opening 28-23 come-from-behind victory over the Apopka Blue Darters.

The Pioneers (1-0) trailed 23-14 after Apopka sophomore Demetri Burch scored on a 15-yard quarterback keeper with four and half minutes to play.

Tisdale, a junior quarterback, hit Murray on long fly pattern for a touchdown to make the score 23-21. The Blue Darters (0-1) attempted, but failed to run out the clock, and gave the ball back to the Pioneers with exactly one minute left in the contest.

After a first down scramble, Tisdale found the Florida State commit Murray again on a long pass over the top of the Apopka secondary, setting up the eventual game winning touchdown on the next play.

With just over a half minute and three timeouts to work with, Apopka quarterback Chandler Cox guided the Blue Darters to the 49-yard line, only to watch a last second hail mary fall incomplete out of bounds.

The game was tied 14-14 at the half.
