The second day of the FHSAA state tennis finals was cut short due to weather.

Olympia sophomore Kaden Funk made the best of his time before play was suspended for the 4A state championships at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs.  Funk defeated Weston Cypress Bay's Gianlucca Massa 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in a grueling match that last more than three and a half hours for the team singles championship.

Funk will face David Engel from Palm Beach Dwyer in the boys overall state singles championship on Wednesday.

Winter Park's Ninan Kumar and Arthur Viallaneix advanced to the boys team doubles finals to face Coral Gables.  Wildcats teammates Jack Henry Reckmeyer and Will Smyrk also advanced.

Tampa Plant's Erica Oosterhout took down the defending state individual champion Alizee Michaud of Dr. Phillips in straight sets to win the girls team singles title.  Oosterhout will face the individual singles champion Kylie Moulin of Newsome for the overall individual title match.

Dr. Phillips girls are tied for second with Boca Raton in the team standings with 10 points behind Cypress Bay.

In 2A, the Rockledge girls tennis team were state runners-up behind champion Gulliver Prep.

Lake Highland Prep's No. 1 doubles duo Sarah-Catherine Herndon and Kaylan Rotman will face Gulliver Prep in the team doubles finals.

On the boys side, Boca Ciega's Dan Stefan capture the 2A Boys Individual Singles Champion.
