FINAL BOYS LAX RANKINGS – May 5th
The top boys lacrosse teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Bright House Sports Network staff:

1. Lake Highland Prep (20-3) – The Highlanders captured their third state championship in four seasons with a dominating 9-2 to victory over the Benjamin Bucs Saturday night in Bradenton. Junior middie Reid Thedford had a hat trick, and senior goalie Adam Sawicki made 8 saves.
2. Lake Mary (15-5) – The Rams, who featured one of the best defense's on the state, saw their stellar season came to end in a tough 2nd round playoff loss on the road at state semifinalist Ponte Vedra 8-6. Goalie Chandler Harrison and midfielder Kurt Sisco will return for the senior seasons in 2015.
3. Seminole (10-4) – Michael Von Kamecke's Seminoles were among the area's elite this season, and were legit state final four contenders but missed the playoffs for just one reaspon: Seminole was unfortunate enough to be in the same district as #2 Lake Mary.
4. Lake Brantley (10-12) – The Patriots' season unraveled following the suspension of head coach Brian Theiss (due to a player eligibility paperwork mix up), the resulting forfeiture of seven games, and then the season-ending shoulder injury to UNC-bound senior midfielder Tim Gehlbach.
5. Bishop Moore (13-5) - Head coach Reed Reynolds has the Hornets headed in the right direction. All five losses came to playoff bound teams: Bolles, Ponte Vedra, #2 Lake Mary, and district rival and #1 Lake Highland twice.
