UCF senior cornerback A.J. Bouye has been selected to participate in the annual Texas vs. The Nation all-star game Saturday, Feb. 2, on FOX Sports Southwest. A flood of NFL scouts will certainly be paying attention to the talent on the field, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas.

Bouye will be teammates one more time with Latavius Murray, who was announced Jan. 15 as one of the running backs set to compete in the contest. Further west in California, Quincy McDuffie and Kemal Ishmael will take part in the 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Saturday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.

Hailing from Tucker, Ga., Bouye came back in a big way in 2012 following an injury midway through 2011. The Conference USA head coaches voted him on to the All-C-USA Second Team, and he also was a member of Phil Steele’s All-C-USA Second Team, as he helped guide UCF to a 10-4 record on the season. It was the second-most victories in program history.

Starting all 14 games, Bouye registered a career-high 53 tackles with eight break-ups, three interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He became just the third player in UCF history to have an interception return for a touchdown and a fumble return for a touchdown in the same season. Bouye’s 111 interceptions return yards, meanwhile, were good for fifth on the UCF single-season chart.

For his career, Bouye collected 110 tackles at the cornerback position with 19 break-ups and six interceptions for 180 yards.

According to NFLDraftScout.com, since 2006 over 500 college players who participated in the Texas vs. The Nation game have been signed to NFL contracts, and over the last five years, 100 players have been selected in the NFL Draft.
