The 265-pound female dolphin was found near Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida last week.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission called SeaWorld to assist after determining the animal had life-threatening injuries. The dolphin had multiple shark bite wounds to her body and right pectoral flipper.
SeaWorld transported the dolphin to its Cetacean Rehabilitation Facility for treatment and rehabilitation. The dolphin is able to swim unsupported, SeaWorld said. However, members of the rescue team are providing 24-hour care until the dolphin gains her strength.
The Georgia Aquarium Conservation Field Station assisted with the rescue.
SeaWorld has helped more than 31,000 animals for more than 50 years.
