Guest staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels will soon pay for overnight parking.

With the policy change, resort guests would be charged per night to park their vehicles overnight at Disney-owned resort hotels.

The exception would be Disney Vacation Club guests, who will not be charged. Complimentary standard parking will be available to guests staying at the campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, as well as day visitors those visiting the hotels for dining and shopping.

Overnight parking prices will vary depending on the resort type:

  • Value Resorts: $13 per night
  • Moderate Resorts: $19 per night
  • Deluxe Resorts: $24 per night

Currently, guest staying at Disney World Resort hotels can park overnight at no charge. Valet parking is also available at select Deluxe Resorts at an additional charge. In addition to the parking fee change, valet parking rates would be increased to $33.

The parking fee change affects guests who make reservations on March 21 and after.

The latest move by Disney falls in line with other theme parks in the area. Universal Orlando, for example, charges a per-night self-parking fee at its resorts.
