SeaWorld's Aquatica is building a new ride for 2018 that promises three unique slide elements in one attraction.

  • New slide, Ray Rush, coming to Aquatica in 2018
  • Raft ride includes 3 unique features
  • HooRoo Run to close Oct. 31

Ray Rush is a family raft slide coming to the Orlando water park next year. We told you SeaWorld trademarked the name back in August.

The new Aquatica slide is 60 feet tall, with rafts that can take up to four riders.

Ray Rush will launch riders onto the slide with water jets designed to propel the rafts at 33 feet per second. Then riders will "swirl in a colossal translucent sphere which spins the raft around the slide walls," an Aquatica release said.

The final thrill drops riders into an open-air halfpipe in the shape of a manta ray, which riders will slide back and forth before going into a final enclosed tube section to the splash pool.

To make way for the construction, Aquatica will permanently close HooRoo Run on Oct. 31. Walhalla Wave will also temporarily close and reopen with Ray Rush next year.

Aquatica is offering one-time Quick Queue passes for Aquatica pass members who want to ride HooRoo Run and Walhalla Wave before they close, on select days.
