(AP) A movie that chronicles a 2013 wildfire that killed 19 Arizona firefighters debuts next week on the heels of blazes scorching California wine country.

The film titled "Only the Brave" is based on the Granite Mountain Hotshots who died while fighting a blaze near Yarnell, Arizona.

A red carpet premiere for the movie was held Tuesday in Tempe.

Cast members Josh Brolin, Miles Teller and James Badge Dale attended with some of firefighters' families. Jennifer Connelly and Jeff Bridges also star in the movie.

Director Joseph Kosinski called it surreal to see images from the wildfires in California's wine country that look like shots in the film.

Kosinski said actors spent time with the victims' families or talking with them on the phone while preparing for the movie.
