Casey Anthony's attorney could wind up being held in contempt of court.

On Monday, prosecutors asked a judge to order Jose Baez to explain why he's missing deadlines in the case.

They said Baez missed a deadline last month to hand over information about the case. They said that's grounds for contempt of court.

However, Baez claimed he was merely confused about what the state attorney's office wanted from him, and asked to meet with prosecutors about it.

In January, Baez was fined nearly $600 for violating a court order to hand over evidence to prosecutors. Baez did pay the fine.
