The deaths of two people found dead at a motel on U.S. 192 in Kissimmee's tourism corridor on Wednesday morning are being described as suspicious.

  • 2 people found dead in US 192 motel room
  • Bodies found at Roomba Inn near Old Town
  • Osceola detectives investigating 2 other killings

The bodies were found in a third-floor room at the Roomba Inn and Suites, near the Old Town attraction, after 911 dispatchers got a call at 10:41 a.m. about a stabbing.

Many of the tenants who stay in the same area of west U.S. 192 are tourists. Jeff Rodgers, who was in Central Florida on vacation from Wisconsin, said that on Monday, he was approached by a young man looking for his girlfriend.

“He said, 'Have you seen a lady in the red jacket? And I was like, 'Uh no, I haven’t seen her.' And he seemed very upset,” Rodgers said.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has been busy this week. On Monday, deputies investigated what appeared to be a murder-suicide of a mother and teen daughter. Meanwhile, deputies continue to search for a man who they say killed his estranged wife earlier this week.

“It’s very sad and tragic, but they are isolated incidents, not something going on in our community per se, but something that is going on within the closed doors of some of our residents and citizens here," Osceola Sheriff's Maj. Jacob Ruiz said.

Rodgers said he's scheduled to return home in a few days, but he feels bad for the community he's leaving behind, "because I hate to see stuff like that happen in anybody’s life," he said.

The Sheriff’s Office has not said whether the motel deaths are part of a double-homicide or murder-suicide case, so it hasn't addressed whether suspects are being sought.
