Firefighters battled a blaze at a Kissimmee apartment complex where a two-alarm fire ripped through a building just days ago. It's the complex's third fire in the last six months.

Kissimmee Fire units responded to the Valencian apartments on Donegan Avenue. The fire on Friday reportedly broke out at noon.

A mother and daughter living at the apartment have been treated for smoke inhalation at a local hospital.

A large fire destroyed an eight-unit building there Wednesday morning, displacing about 20 residents. One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

Last October, an electrical issue at the complex sparked another blaze.

Natividad Martinez's family lives above the apartment that burned. They’re okay, but Martinez said smoke filled their home, so they can’t live there until it can be cleaned up.

“It’s really scary, especially for my granddaughter, because she’s going through a lot right now, and to know that we can’t come back home is going to hurt her a lot,” said Martinez.

After the fire at the Valencian apartments on Wednesday, Martinez prayed.

“I pray a lot, and I asked the Lord if anything was to happen to bless where I’m at,” Martinez said. "And at the end of the day, I guess he did bless my apartment, because it didn’t catch on fire like the other ones.”

The state fire marshal is looking into what started both of the fires, but so far hasn’t released any details about a cause.

Investigators say so far, no evidence shows the two fires are related. They do say a fire last October at the same complex was caused by an electrical issue at the complex.

Martinez said she’s had electrical problems in her unit.

“I have a switch and I told them it sizzles, and they came yesterday to fix it because I’ve been complaining about it for a while,” Martinez said.

The property manager for the apartments was not available for comment Friday afternoon.

The American Red Cross is assisting families displaced by the fires.
